Broncos vs Raiders Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 18: Not So Elite QB Play

There’s good news and bad news for both the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders ahead of their Week 18 meeting at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. The good news is that whoever wins comes second in the division, but the bad news is that neither will make the playoffs.

Despite the Raiders never having lost to Denver since moving to Vegas, this is a game between two run-heavy teams with poor quarterbacks and there is no reason not to get on this Under early before it moves anymore in the NFL odds.

I break down the Week 17 NFL odds and offer my free NFL picks for Broncos vs. Raiders on January 7.

Gareth Southgate fears disruption to season will hold back youngsters

Gareth Southgate believes England will be stronger whenever international football resumes because key players such as Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford should be fully fit again, though he still worries the disruption to the Premier League season might have a negative impact on young players awaiting their first-team chance.

“Premier League football might be back this week but the academies are still closed,” the England manager said. “If there is one area where Covid‑19 might have set a few players back that would be it.

Erik ten Hag confident of Manchester United appointment after more talks

Erik ten Hag is confident of being offered the position of Manchester United’s next permanent manager following the agreement between the Dutchman’s camp and the club that Steve McClaren should be appointed as his No 2 if the 51-year-old takes over.

The Ajax coach has held more talks with United about succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjær and is understood to view the club’s willingness to consider McClaren, who Ten Hag worked under at FC Twente for the 2008-09 season,as a positive sign he could be heading to Old Trafford. Although a deal is yet to be sealed, Ten Hag and his advisers will now be surprised if he misses out.

Sam Kerr primed for Philippines qualifier on road to Olympic gold

Sam Kerr has had an “icky” few months since the Women’s World Cup ended in August.

After her campaign was put on hold due to a calf injury sustained in training before the Matildas’ opening game against Ireland, Kerr led her team from off the field and didn’t take a step on it until the 79th minute of their last-16 win over Denmark. While the Australian captain was able to play in team’s quarter-final, semi-final and third-place playoff, much to the joy and relief of local fans, something happened in the match with Sweden that set her fitness back again.

“It’s been difficult to be honest,” Kerr said on Saturday ahead of the Matildas crucial Olympic qualifier against the Philippines. “I re-did my …

Cowboys' Zack Martin: Retirement possible after 2024 season

Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin acknowledged that the upcoming season could be his last. "I'm not saying 100 percent, but I think it's definitely in the realm of possibilities," the seven-time All-Pro said of the notion of retirement, per The Dallas Morning News. "And that's one thing I don't want to do. For myself, I don't want to be thinking, 'Oh, this is it. This is it.' I want to stay in the moment, and I want to play the best that I can play at this point and be the best right guard this team needs on a weekly basis. And then after the season, we'll figure out what's going on." The Cowboys are adjusting the departure of left tackle Tyron Smith, who left the team this offseason and signed with the New York Jets. …

IDIOT OF THE YEAR 2022: The complete rankings

Happy new year and welcome to the grand finale of Deadspin’s IDIOT OF THE YEAR festivities — here’s hoping 2023 will be better. It probably won’t. 50. Golfweek Magazine source: Getty Images It’s always good to read the room before popping off a witty remark, especially when that snarky comment is headed out to the public. Golfweek Magazine made this mistake with a Tweet in the summer where they made light of children surviving cancer. For the record… that’s always a bad idea. The fact someone thought this was a good idea is astonishing, but even more mind-boggling is that it actually got posted. This was beyond idiocy, crossing over to downright trashy. It isn’t necessary to post everything you’re thinking. Most times, you should stop and think about it first, especia…

Why Your Team Sucks 2016: Indianapolis Colts

Some people are fans of the Indianapolis Colts. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Indianapolis Colts. This 2016 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the previews so far here. And buy Drew’s new book here. Your team: MayonnaiseLand Colts. Your 2015 record: 8-8. “What in the world…” God, that play was so great. Just a whole country going WHAT THE FUCK in unison as poor Griff Whalen committed designed suicide. There’s true comfort to be had in watching professional athletes and coaches make an error so obvious and so breathtakingly stupid that you, the viewer at home, can say “I would have done that better” and have it literally be true. I owe half my self-esteem to this play. Also, the head coach publicly said that play wa…

If Rahim Moore weren't a fuckup and John Fox weren't a gutless coward, you'd be divisional round chum! Fluuuuuuuuke. The refs fucked the Niners over! RAY LEWIS IS STILL A MURDERER STABBY STAB STAB. U.S. beats Ukraine to clinch return to Davis Cup finals

Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram pulled out a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 doubles victory over Illya Beloborodko and Oleksii Krutykh to complete the United States' 4-0 win over Ukraine in their Davis Cup qualifier on Friday in Vilnius, Lithuania. The victory seals the Americans' return to the Davis Cup finals in 2024. The group stage begins in September. Krajicek and Ram saved a whopping 18 of 19 break points and had a 35-22 edge in winners over the Ukrainian counterparts. "It was a very tough match the whole way through. Their team was exceptionally good and competed really hard," Krajicek said after the match. "They put us in a tough position by playing a great second set. I thought we did a good job raising our energy in the third and in playing well and serving well at big…
